At The Golden Road to Samarqand, Amira discusses recent reports of the sale of babies from hospital's in Kyrgyzstan's capital, Bishkek. Amira, who spent a lot of time visiting a Kyrgyz baby house (orphanage for babies) when she lived in Bishkek, says that she is glad that Kyrgyzstan is open to international adoptions, and that she hopes that more of the babies in orphanages, many of whom have health problems, will be able to find homes.
