There were rumors about the government party UDUB lobbying opposition representatives to switch parties in the hope that its 33 elected MPs would increase and hence grab the majority from KULMIYE and UCID parties. KULMIYE and UCID decided to merge after the elections and hence formed the majority in Somaliland Parliament.”
