Thanks for the news from Venezuela, but please when you talk about “Venezuelan imperialism” are you serious? Imperialism compared to what, whose “imperialism,” in what historical context are you implying? You know, of course, that Chavez has done more for the poor and needy in Venezuela that any previously US supported regime in Venezuela. Is this true or not? When has the US government really given outright support to a really true democracy in Latin America, a democracy that represented the voices of the people of that particular country and not the minority wealthy, corporate or military elite? Perhaps the Chavez’s government may use some refinement as any government anywhere, but it is also true it could use some praise, don’t you think? Of course, Chavez is intimindated by world’s largest military power to the North, who more than ever before in history has taken on an ideology that intends to really manipulate through whatever means the rest of the world for its own corporate interests, and not necessarily for the interests of its own people. Consequently, Chavez must do what he can to protect, not so much his interests or wealth, but the interests of those in Venezuela that need that support, that protection. All news is bias. This is unavoidable, because all news is made by people with different points of view. It is easy to fall into that bias rut, but it is more difficut, the job of reporting events and issues, to give equal representation to different views – a bit democratic?. Thanks again.
