India: Safer Roads

Even as roads are built and infrastructure is improved, the hazards on the roads sometimes get worse as Metroblogging Chennai points out. “Ongoing traffic moves on an average speed of 40 KMPH with some times no cops to facilitate the traffic, people who want to cross the road take charge and create great difficulty for the ongoing traffic”


  • India has been making strident progress in info-tech. But sadly, the same pace isn’t reflected in infrastructure, especially roadways. Transportation is basic to development, and unless that develops, any other progress will just not have much meaning.

  • Pradeep: Even more troubling is the fact that there is a certain lawlessness even when the infrastructure work is ongoing. No safety regulations and what not..


    Its good work. Is it possible to teach already driving drivers,say thro RTOs and DRIVING SCHOOL in INDIA, to drive AS PER REGULATION or else MAKE THEM STOP DRIVING?

    2. Indian driving Anywhere can be seen, DRIVERS ESPECIALLY 2 WHEELERS AND THREE and 4 wheelers as well to a significant extent, TAKING THE RIGHT TURN, FROM CENTER AND RIGHT OF THE ROADS, BLOCKING THE ONCOMING STRIGHT AND LEFT TURN VEHICLES. If this bad practice is stopped 50% regulation can be reached.
    3. Indian Traffic constables, never stay at the right spots, but only nearby tea-shops, and never regulate traffic, walking thro and warning r booking the traffic offenders. Traffic officers are never seen at all unless there is some VIP visits, that makes tke traffic police work, as they wish and decide.
    4. The above can be seen easily when the traffic duty time is over and the clock is about to stike, traffic police will disappear from the place of action even when the traffic is snarling. WORKING FOR CHARIT AND NOT PERFORMING THE DUTY..
    if we dont act fast, unlike Japan,europe and usa, our country will become immobile and indisciplened to the core augering a recalcitrant citizens
