Zecharias Zelalem is a freelance journalist who covers the Horn of Africa and Ethiopia in particular. Focusing on human rights and migration, he won the 2021 Fetisov Journalism Prize and his coverage of Ethiopia's civil war earned him nominations at the Amnesty International Media Awards, the One World Media Awards and the British Journalism Awards.
