Sinan Ciddi is an Associate Professor of Security Studies at the Command and Staff College, Marine Corps University (MCU). He is a scholar of Turkish domestic politics and foreign policy. He obtained his Ph.D. in Political Science from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London in 2007. Ciddi has authored numerous scholarly articles, opinion pieces and book chapters on contemporary Turkish politics and foreign policy. Ciddi was born in Turkey and educated in the United Kingdom. Prior to joining MCU, Ciddi was the Executive Director of the Institute of Turkish Studies, based at Georgetown University (2011-2020). Between 2008-2011 he established the Turkish Studies program at the University of Florida's Center for European Studies. Ciddi continues to serve as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
