Ramna Saeed

Ramna Saeed is a young multimedia journalist from Pakistan. Her work focuses on digital surveillance, gender justice, refugee rights, and freedom of expression in South Asia. She has reported for Urdu News Saudi Arabia, BBC Urdu, ARY News, Yeni Şafak International, and Global Voices, producing over 200 multimedia stories spanning investigative reports, field features, and video reports.
Ramna was honored with the Diana Award (2022) for her activism against sexual harassment and was recently named Pride of Pakistan for her contributions to grassroots advocacy and public interest journalism. She is the founder of She Leads Pakistan, a youth-led initiative amplifying women’s leadership and civic participation.
Her recent work includes in-depth reporting on Pakistan’s cybercrime laws targeting journalists, mass surveillance of citizens, police crackdowns, and the precarious lives of Afghan refugee students. Ramna studied Media & Communications at Saint Cloud State University in Minnesota and continues to use storytelling as a tool to challenge power and center marginalized voices.
