Mohamad Najem is cofounder and advocacy director of the Beirut–based Social Media Exchange (SMEX), where he focuses on integrating digital rights into Internet policy and governance through research, writing, and campaigns. He has delivered dozens of digital media and advocacy workshops in Lebanon and throughout the Arab region, including at the recent ICANN School of Internet Governance in Tunis. He is a former adjunct Carnegie fellow for the Middle East Task Force at New America. He tweets as @MoNajem and blogs for SMEX and Global Voices Advocacy.
