Bolivia is taking only 5 athletes to the XXX Olympic Games in London. A scandal related to the expenses of the Olympic leadership has exploded on social networks and reached the news media. The debate also focuses on the very poor level of sports in the country, which has never won an Olympic medal.

Colombia: Locals Demand End to Cauca Conflict

For years, the indigenous people of the municipality of Toribio in Cauca have put up with hundreds of battles provoked by the guerrilla, paramilitary groups, and the military. The conflict has generated the displacement of thousands of indigenous people. Now, the indigenous people of the area have decided to intensify their struggle to expel these armed groups from their territory.

Panama: Minister of the Presidency Resigns

Demetrio Papadimitriu, Minister of the Presidency and right hand man of the president Ricardo Martinelli, resigned his office. The news was not assimilated easily and for many it was impossible. The government stirred up the controversy on Sunday 15 July during the celebration of El Día del Niño (Children's Day) when the president refused to make a statement.
