We're delighted to announce the Global Voices Citizen Media Summit 2010! Our gathering takes place this year in the vibrant city of Santiago, Chile on May 6-7, 2010. Among the highlights of the proceedings will be the announcement of the winners of the Breaking Borders award, a new prize created by Google and Global Voices.

Port-au-Prince's Grand Rue neighbourhood, home to a vibrant community of Haitian artists, was seriously affected by the 12 January earthquake. Georgia Popplewell, on the ground in Haiti, talks to Belle Williams, a community representative, about the earthquake and its aftermath.
