Alice Lana is a PhD candidate in Public Policy, Strategies, and Development at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (PPED/UFRJ), Brazil. She holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree from the Federal University of Paraná School of Law (PPGD/UFPR). She is a board member of the Copyright Observatory Institute (IODA) and Creative Commons Brazil. She is a researcher at the Copyright and Industrial Rights Study Group (GEDAI/UFPR) since 2014.
Alice works as a consultant for the Rights in the Network Coalition (CDR), which unites over 50 Brazilian academic and civil society organizations advocating for digital rights, and for the NGO Global Voices. She has an extensive academic background in law, technology, and copyright. Previously, she was head of research at InternetLab, a research sprint fellow at Harvard's Berkman Klein Center, a researcher at ITS-Rio, a CNPq scholarship holder, and a lawyer at Sistema Fiep.
