London Summit – 2005

Our first Summit was held on December 10, 2005 in Reuters headquarters in London, United Kingdom. It was a daylong meeting in four sessions, oriented primarily to participants of Global Voices, but was also attended by a wider community of journalists, non-profit organizations, and online media enthusiasts.

You can read more about what happened on the Liveblog for the Summit.

This was how the meeting was billed:

The Global Voices Summit, on December 10th, will be an opportunity for contributors and community members to take stock of what we’ve done, promote our successes, and brainstorm about what a global citizens’ media community might accomplish going forward. The event has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Berkman Center for Internet & Society and Reuters. It will be held at Reuters world headquarters in London.

Our work building bridges across cultures, languages and perspectives is more urgent than ever before.
