Theater of War: Photo Captures Israelis ‘Watching’ Gaza Being Bombed

Danish journalist Allan Sørensen ‏posted this image on Twitter, which shows residents watching and celebrating Gaza being bombed. Sørensen has confirmed he took the picture on Wednesday night (July 9) at a hilltop in the frontline Israeli city Sderot.

Sørensen is the Middle East correspondent with the Danish newspaper Kristeligt Dagblad.

Some western media outlets like the Telegraph, have said Sderot is being battered by missiles and rockets from Gaza. The article “Israel's front line town of Sderot battered by missiles” published by the Telegraph on June 9, around the time Sørensen took this picture, says: “Residents of the ‘city of rockets’ just a mile from Gaza describe the fear of living under bombardment by missiles.”

Sderot has a population of 24,000 people and covers a five-square-kilometer area.

Earlier this week Israel launched the massive “Operation Defensive Edge” against Gaza, which has killed over 80 Palestinians so far, many of them women and children. From Gaza, Hamas, which has ruled the strip since 2007, has fired missiles into Israel. As of July 11, Israeli officials reported that no Israelis had been killed as a result. Most of the rockets coming into Israel have caused no serious damage, due in part to the US-funded Iron Dome aerial defense system, which has intercepted at least 70 projectiles so far, according to the Guardian.

In the early stages of WW2, before it got real ugly, Hitler offered to relocate the Jewish people to Madagascar where they could have lived in a wonderous Earthly paradise but the World Jewish congress wanted war, destruction and recognition of the Balfor agreement so they could live in the war torn middle east and cause drama and death for decades. Look how beautiful Madagascar is – they must hate life and all living things.

Hey Jew hater. So according to you Hitler was a man of peace who wanted to help Jews and send them to a vacation in a tropical Island, how lovely of him.

You just show your true face every time you post a comment. You are a Jew hater and you will use any argument to justify that.

      • Uncle Bob

I’m just making a point that your people could even to this day live in a nice place like this but instead live in a war zone in an area of the world where you will never live in peace. You choose the ugliness of war over the beauty of living in harmony in a place like this – you must have a screw loose!

        • Yoav

Yes, you’re making a lot of twisted point, and false propaganda to support your hate and support for terror.

          • Uncle Bob

There is nothing twisted about. Do you choose peace or war?
I would much rather swim in the blue waters above than with Hamas/ Hezbollah frogmen that will continue to crawl on to your beaches.

I can ask you the same question. Does peace means one side does accept the other or does it mean we co-exist ? Your idea of peace is doing an ethnic cleanse of one culture to satisfy terrorists. Indeed that is the Muslim way of “making peace”.
So here’s my answer to you. I chose to live in peace in my country. Would you recognize Israel’s right to exist ?

          • Uncle Bob

YOU DON’T HAVE TO LIVE AROUND THEM AT ALL! You couldn’t pay me to live in the Muslim world no matter what the price.
That area will always be filled with Muslims and your numbers with shrink until you they eventually have the power to make you gone. If your leaders were wise they would lead you away from that evil land to a place where you wouldn’t burn your brains out by constantly living in a heightened state of fear and under the gun. You are going to have an entire nation of people living with PTSD! Get a grip!

Your days of doom will never happen. We were always out numbered and we came out strong. Let me remind you that in 1948 a few hours after Israel was established all Arab countries: Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq and Saudi Arabia started war against the 1 Jewish state. There were more than us yet they lost. The Arabs chose a strategy of non recognition in the Jewish state and violence towards the Jewish state and they all sank to their tragedies. Yet we came out stronger and stronger. Your days of doom will never happen.

          • Uncle Bob

It’s your doom happening right now with every child the IDF turns into hamburger.

          • Yoav

The doom is the doom of the Palestinian people and their leaders. Those are the one who chose the path of violence. Those are the ones who have the fantasy to purify the land from Jews and those are the one to suffer the consequences.
Our army doesn’t want to kill children. This was never our policy. This was the policy of the Palestinians and this is what is happening every day.

          • Yoav

May I ask what country do you live in ?

If Israelis are not frightened of these rockets, why are they slaughtering Palestinians????

  • ene-bene-raba

    This is not all.

After watching the explosions they all went to eat their dinner…

It is like in “they tried to kill us, they failed, let’s now eat”.

Have these pictures been checked out ? If its true its horrible but don’t see any bombs going off background just looks calm. Have seen so many photo shopped and mis labeled pictures lately from both sides no longer know what to believe some used as new are very old and in different part of world these just look like people on beach that could be anywhere.

    Let’s look at the facts.

Hamas wants to kill all Jews and eradicate Israel. Hamas sends hundreds of rockets into Israel every year. Hamas keeps their rockets hidden among civilian population, including inside schools and hospitals.

Israel has finally enough of constantly getting attacked. Israel strikes back. Israel goes to great length to warn civilians and tell them to leave designated target areas, which of course the Hamas doesn’t want to happen and so they tell the people to stay there. Then, when Israel finally shells the place, civilians die and Hamas has cute propaganda videos showing “innocent” civilians suffering under the “brutal” attacks of the “eeeeeeeeeeevil Jooooooooos”.

And the Europeans and Americans gobble up that crap sandwich, take it for fact and demand seconds.

Yes, it’s all the Jews’ fault, isn’t that bottom line of all the BS? Funny how nothing ever changes. 2,000 years of “it’s the Jews’ fault” and no end in sight.

Isn’t it americans watched Irag and Afghanistan being bombed as well, solely for entertainment. It is the nature of man. The big fish always eats the little fish. In this case fanactics are losing to a supior adversary. Of course there are thousands of charities out there trying to get donations to save the terrorists in Gaza. The media is so much more corrupt than the actual events. The real criminals are the media and their self-servient propaganda that always takes sides and eliminates facts because they get bribe money. Amateurs indeed. Lets see if there is really a real man this time to finally get rid of this muslim plague on this planet. Netanyahu is trying to do what is required, wether it is right or wrong, these inbred child molesters need to be bulldozed into the sea, not just from gaza but everywhere they exist on this planet.
