Hackers Mock Internet Speed in Myanmar by Replacing Logo of IT Ministry with Turtles

The website of Myanmar's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology was hacked on Friday morning, July 4, 2014. The hackers replaced two government seals with turtles alluding to the country's slow internet connection. The hacking also coincided with the Facebook blocking which many people believe was done by the government to prevent the spread of hate speech after violent riots erupted in the city of Mandalay.
The government was able to fix the website in the afternoon.

Burma has much more serious problems and Burmese are “very slow” in fixing them. Internet speed is an easier problem and is not such a big deal for 90% of the population, who doesn’t have electricity or even clean water. First things first!
If you are born in Burma, you are not a citizen if you’re Muslim.The Buddhist majority have burned the villages of Muslims, routed them to the sea.These people are called the Rohingyas.
About 2 yrs ago, the US made sudden peace with Burma, b/c it wanted to develop—guess what?—oil! So, #hillary went over to Burma, to make the way safe for ‘democracy’. Don’t worry, HRW is on the case.OMG.
