Dan Harris is again stating the bleeding obvious from someone else’s published article and getting it wrong. Its a common failing of China Law Blog. “If your company is corrupt, leave China”. Yeah, right. Well GSK’s Chief Executive Mark Reilly DID leave China – only to return when China threatened to contact Interpol. So he had to come back and is now under house arrest. Maybe Dan Harris doesn’t know who Interpol are? Again he re-quotes an old story and gets the answer wrong. There are far better blogs than China Law Blag out there, read those instead if you want answers.

I do not think that you read his article as what he said about the need for these executives to leave China had nothing to do with Mark Reilly. I also do not think that threatening to contact Interpol was what caused Mark Reilly to return to China, but I am also not sure why that matters for anything. I give Harris credit for having the guts to say what nobody else seems willing to say for fear of offending their own clients. Articles like this are why China Law Blog has become so well read and so trusted.
