No Winners in Thailand Elections?

Categories: East Asia, Thailand, Elections, Politics

Chris Baker analyzed election statistics in Thailand and concluded [1] that there are no clear winners in the elections:

My overall impression is that nobody won. If full data are every released, Pheu Thai (ruling party) will probably have won a majority of the seats. But the party cannot have won enough votes in absolute numbers to bolster the government’s sagging legitimacy.

The election was boycotted [2] by the opposition as anti-government protests continue to gather thousands in the streets of Bangkok, the country's capital.
