Queen Elizabeth II of England has approved the Order of the British Empire [1] for Peruvian photographer Mario Testino [2], who lives in London since 1976, “for services to photography and charity”, as announced by the British government on its website [3].

Comparing the news with an event everyone is talking about in Peru, Twitter user Emi Gonzales said:

While Mario Testino is being honored by Queen Elizabeth II, our junior female volleyball players have being honored by [President of Congress] Freddy Otárola (who, by the way, is completely lost).

‘Matadorcitas’ [5] is how people popularly know the members of the national junior volleyball team, who just achieved fourth place [6] on the 2013 FIVB Girls Youth World Championship, recently held in Thailand. The girls have received multiple honors [7] [es] upon their arrival to Peru.
