My Destination recently published “10 Things You Don't Know About Serbia”. All ten items on the list are fascinating in one way or another – from fun facts to perhaps a few survival tips for those who wonder where vampires originated and how cold winds in Southeast Europe can get.

Most people associate vampires with the dark and mysterious lands of Transylvania… but vampires are legendary in all areas of the Balkans, including Serbia. In fact, it’s now widely accepted that the word ‘vampire’ originated in the Serbian language, and the country certainly has the gory tales to match.
