Mexican Reporter to US Colleagues: Investigate Corruption

“The battle we have at hand is not only for freedom of expression. It is for peoples’ right to be informed.”

Mexican journalist Marcela Turati delivered a keynote speech at the Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas, where she “asked American journalists to investigate corrupt government officials, local drug dealers and money launderers here to help complete the puzzle,” as Alejandro Martínez explains for The Knight Center's Journalism in the Americas Blog. You can read her full speech here.
