That bloke is a nut. A nut who happens to be Muslim. Blaming Muslims for this is like blaming Hitler’s moustache for the Holocaust.
British actor and comedian Russel Brand has written a blog post [1] on reactions following the horrifying murder of British soldier Lee Rigby during broad daylight in South London neighborhood Woolwich. One of Rigby's attackers claimed an Islamist motive in a video shot minutes after the crime, [2] which has set off a string of far-right protests against Muslims [3] and revenge attacks on mosques in the UK [4]. Brand writes:
The murderers want angry patriots to desecrate mosques and perpetuate violence. How futile their actions seem if we instead leave flowers at each other’s places of worship.
