The New Diaspora documentary project invites Greeks forced by the austerity crisis to emigrate, as well as the returned progeny of Greek immigrants from previous diasporas, to share their stories online. The project is crowdfunded on Indiegogo, and 5% of funds raised will be donated to the Greek chapter of Medecins Du Monde. Crisis-themed documentary projects are taking off in Greece, often web-based and crowdfunded, as the crisis has also impacted traditional production and distribution avenues.
