Censoring Censorship in China

other countriesThe above screen capture of a local news brief has gone viral on Chinese social media yesterday. It said: “Recently Myanmar has unblocked Facebook, the world's most popular social media website. Now only four countries in the world still blocked Facebook, including South Korea, Cuba, Iran and another country.” Other countries is a coded term for China.

    Doesn’t 朝鮮 mean North Korea? not South Korea.

    I think 朝鲜 is North Korea and 韩国 is South Korea

  • Yes. I also think that 朝鮮 means North Korea and there’s no problem in using Facebook in S. Korea.
