Following the 8 May firebombing of a gay-friendly bar in Yerevan [1] and the disruption by ultra-nationalists of a march for diversity two weeks later [2], the Huffington Posts asks if Armenia is slowly sliding towards fascism [3]? In recent months nationalist actions have become more evident in the predominantly mono-ethnic country, including in April when a prominent peace activist was attacked [4], much to the concern of international human rights groups [5]. And as even government officials have launched their own right-wing movements [6], Unzipped reposts the blog entry saying that alarm bells should now be ringing [7].
