On December 3 and 4, 2011, developers, designers, academics and other experts from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay, will participate in “Desarrollando América Latina” [es] (Developing Latin America), a 30 hour open data hackathon to develop web applications that help solve social problems related to education, public budgets, and security. Some bloggers, like Juan Arellano [es] from Peru and Fabrizio Scrollini [es] from Uruguay, have previewed the event from their country's perspective.
