As Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's hours are quickly running out, Twitter users are issuing their warnings to Syrian president Bashar Al Assad to take heed, and leave power.

I wonder how much something like this becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy? Are our words – our tweets, blogs and statements in the media – are they really helping topple a regime? We all believed that was true in Tunisia and Egypt, and I think we’d like to believe it’s still true in Libya and, who knows, maybe Syria.
And if so, we are playing with fire. I’m not a fan of totalitarian disregard for human rights, but I think there is a lot to be said for stability. For people to wake up in the morning and have their jobs, families… to know what to expect. And to know that there is a good chance of making it through the day and still be alive, still have family, still have the job.
Have we taken that away from the Libyans? Are we taking that away from the Syrians?
I am a Syrian city of Aleppo, I swear to you all here with President Bashar, and I also know through friends to me that all the people with the President, like the president and want to stay, but each case with the oil, which in Syria, the United States want to enter Syria for oil only

The Arabs in support of the US are lacking in knowledge of international politics. The US is an enemy to the Arab world and not a friend.
Oil? Don’t flatter yourself, Syrians. You have less than 1/3 the oil of the UK, less than 1/7 the oil of Canada. Nobody cares about your (utter lack of) oil, so you can stop killing protesters now.
