Anatoly Karlin of Sublime Oblivion discusses some quite interesting comparative statistics of Russian dollar billionaires as compared to the super rich of other countries internationally, putting the issue into some perspective.
Vilhelm, do you have any idea why Sweden has so many billionaires? (including, as we know, some very rich ones, e.g. Kamprad).
10 billionaires for 9 million people. France has 12 for 63mn, Italy 13 for 57mn, Japan 26 for 127mn. Its rate is almost similar to US’ 400 for 300mn.
But seeing as Sweden has extremely low levels of income inequality (as per the Gini index), I found it rather surprising.
