On June 7, members of the Andean Parliament [1]were robbed [2] at the organization’s headquarters in Bogotá, Colombia. The Andean Parliament is the supervisory body of the Andean Community, [3] a regional organization comprising Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru with the aim of reaching a “comprehensive development, more balanced and independent, through Andean, South American and Latin American integration.” The blog Planeta al día shared the news [4] [es]:

The thieves took computers and bags of Latinamerican legislators who attended a forum at the Bogota headquarters of the Andean Parliament (Parlandino)

The assailants entered the place when congressmen had left the room for a break, as reported by Paraguayan Senator Ana María Mendoza.

On Twitter netizens posted their opinions, mostly rejecting what had happened, with the hashtag #Parlamentoandino [5].

They robbed the #ParlamentoAndino [11]? well, don’t they rob our #taxes? More white-collar #thieves!

And MarceloGonzalez (@Diegomarcelo [15]) asked:

#losdilemasdelavida [17]

Could it be that those at the #parlamentoandino [8] felt the same way the #people feel when the #government steals from us? #life’sdilemmas
