Today, the Royal Court officially announced that Friday 25th February will be a day of mourning to the martyrs who had fallen since February 14th. It was announced on Twitter via the Information Affairs Authority official Twitter page.

@IAA_Bahrain BREAKING STATEMENT FROM #BAHRAIN ROYAL COURT: Friday 25 Feb 2011 has been declared an Official Day of Mourning.

Some welcomed the gesture as it followed the Crown Prince's promise of holding a day of mourning and as a gesture of goodwill and serious intention towards dialogue, others were not satisfied.

@chanadbh Welcome gesture: RT @IAA_Bahrain: BREAKING STATEMENT FROM #BAHRAIN ROYAL COURT: 25 Feb 2011 has been declared an Official Day of Mourning.

@alhejairy الديوان الملكي يعلن غداً يوم حداد على أرواح ضحايا البحرين – صدق من قال يقتل القتيل ويمشي في جنازته #Bahrain

The Royal Court announced tomorrow a day of mourning to those who've lost their lives – As they say “He kills the victim and walks in his funeral procession” (Arabic proverb)

Blogger Mohammed Al-Maskati (@emoodz) wonders if this announcement will mean that the protests and acknowledgement of the fallen martyrs will be broadcast on Bahrain's national TV, which has failed to air any of the Pearl (Lulu) Roundabout protests and focused on the recent pro government rally held at Al-Fateh Islamic Centre.

@emoodz Will we see pictures of our martyrs on BTV tomorrow? #iwonder #bahrain #lulu

@emoodz Will BTV run stories, interviews and admit the legitimacy of the uprising the martyrs were killed in? #iwonder #bahrain #lulu

Previously arranged marches for the martyrs in ‘A Day of Mourning’ will continue as planned..

@RedhaHaji Demos declared Friday 25th as a ‘Day of Mourning’. Rally for martyrs wl start frm Salmaniya traffic lights to #lulu #bahrain 330pm.

..and tweep @SamehFoulad wonders if the official day of mourning can bring Bahrainis together by marching united from Pearl Roundabout to Al-Fateh Mosque, the focal points for both pro democracy and pro government protests respectively.

@SamehFoulad هل نتوقع غداً مسيرة موحدة حدادية على ارواح ابناء البحرين من دوار اللؤلؤ لمسجد الفاتح ؟

Can we expect a united mournful march from Pearl (Lulu) Roundabout to Al-Fateh Mosque?
