Azerbaijan: We are all Junkies…

Jabbar Savalan updates its readers on the case of a youth activist recently arrested in Azerbaijan. In its latest entry, the blog reports that the Dalga Youth Movement have issued a statement concerning the arrest [EN], while in another, it posts a photograph of a protest demonstration held in his support [AZ]. Chanting “we are all junkies,” supporters of Jabbar Savalan believe that charges of drug possession are fabricated and politically motivated in the aftermath of protests in Egypt [EN].

Jabbar Savalan is just teen blogger, i don’t think that’s wright to write “Azerbaijan: we are all junkies” but i am not surprised, cause it is just “armenian thing” ))

  • Asimov, judging from the post he wrote it was not an “Armenian thing.” In fact, it was what youth activists protesting in Sumgait were chanting. Of course, they didn’t mean it. In fact, they meant the opposite and were commenting on the case of Jabbar Savalan (the blog is just named after him) who had been arrested for drugs possession, a charge his friends and supporters strongly deny.
