In Tunisia, a popular lawyers-led strike [1] took place today, January 6. The list of the protesters arrested in the town of Thala as a result was published on facebook [2] (ar) and three arrests were posted on twitter and confirmed later. Azyz Amamyma [3], Slim Amamou [4]and rapper El General, who famously wrote the song “President, your people are dying [5]” (fr) were amongst the arrested activists. Later on, thanks to geolocalisation with Google latitude on his cell phone, Amamou was spotted at the ministry of Interior [6]. A show of solidarity [7] for the #SidiBouzid movement took place in Paris at the same time.
