“Help Map for Russian Winter” [1] (Holoda.info), a new crowdsourcing project, was launched in Russia to address the problems of people who are affected by cold weather. RIA Novosti news agency reports [2] [RUS] that the website's goal is to raise awareness about people suffering from the lack of heating and other support systems in Russia, and facilitate mutual aid among people. The project was launched by a volunteer group that previously initiated “Help Map” Ushahidi platform [3] [ENG] for Russian wildfires (Russian-fires.ru).
