Several Iranian bloggers have reacted to an online video where Lebanese Hezbollah Leader, Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah [1], makes the controversial claims that Iran does not have any Persian [2] civilisation but only an Islamic one, and that the Islamic Republic's founder was of Arab ancestry.
Aftab News, an Iran-based website says [3] [fa] the film was composed of two parts and that it seems that Nasrallah's speech was delivered last year. In another part of video, Nasrallah also praises the Iranian regime for quelling protests after the presidential election [4]in June 2009. A Facebook page [5]has been launched for “anti-Nasrallah” Iranians which has more than 9000 supporters (image above is from the Facebook page).
Raye Sabz Iran (Green Iran Vote) writes with irony [fa]:
Mr. Nasrallah does the oil money that you get come from Arab coffers? You enjoy Iranian money but deny Iran's ancient culture… wake up
Sight is also very angry with Nasrallah and says [6]:
“Only religious regimes can create the illusion for him to say such nonsense. We, the secular, should unite and declare that we want to setup a political system without any relation with supernatural power.
Azarmehr writes [7]:
“So there we go! Now we know exactly what is going on in Iran and who is ruling in Iran. Thank you Sheikh Nassrollah for stating the obvious. Our country is under occupation by foreign usurpers who are threatening our identity, heritage and culture. But don't be too happy Sheikh Nassrollah, Iran has dealt with worse usurpers than you and turned them into Iranians. You too will not be successful. Iran will never die.”
