Despite the pledge of various individuals and companies to invest in East Timor, nothing much has happened. Here comes Jape Kong Su, a Chinese Timorese, who has raised funds to build Timor Plaza. He is hailed as the country's ‘first serious investor.’

Families were evicted for the Timor Plaza. Poor Timorese have to suffer MORE for the Jape’s family’s investment in Timor in the name of development. Such is the Jape’s way of doing business and he has more pristine land taken up for far bigger investment….
