Today is the Hindu Festival of Lights – and while Barbados Free Press wishes everyone a “Subh Divali”, Trinidad diaspora blogger Jumbie's Watch is concerned about “problems with the hazards caused by fireworks” and Globewriter, in the context of LGBT rights, says: “Divali…is the Hindu celebration of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. I am not a religious sort myself but I think most of my readers would join in me wishing for a bit more knowledge rather than ignorance.”
