  • Global Voices should disclose that it has a working relationship with The Economist, not that this means it shouldn’t cover this story, but just for sake of transparency on its relationships with the subjects of stories.

  • The relationship with Economist is displayed prominently on the front page of Global Voices. Global Voices submits articles in Economist, not the other way around. This short update discusses about the impounding of a consignment which is a big story in Sri Lankan blogosphere. This report does not highlight any link to The Economist. I don’t understand why we should mention the relationship on every story where the name ‘the Economist’ appears and thus irritate the readers.
