Azerbaijan: Facebook shuts down Scary Azeri?

Much to the astonishment of her many fans, Scary Azeri says that she thinks her Facebook fan page has possibly been shut down by the popular social networking site. The popular blogger, whose often unique posts have featured highly in Global Voices’ Caucasus section and who was interviewed by this site a year ago this month, is both surprised and confused by such a development as are many of her friends and loyal readers who can now only view a page not found message. At time of writing it is unclear whether this is a deliberate page removal or simply a technical glitch, but in comments left on her personal Facebook page, many fear the worst.

That’s weird. I really doubt she violated any of FB rules, I guess it was reported and the administration didn’t bother to think before suspending the group
I think it is high time for people to stay away from Facebook as much as possible. This will keep less data of Facebook and give it more probability to not be in the “Gone with the wind” status.
Scary Azeri still has not received a response, and I’ve yet to receive one from Adam Conner, FB’s Privacy and Public Policy person. This raises very serious issues with regards to FB’s potential as a social networking tool, IMHO. Hope they resolve this ASAP.
After Global Voices sent an email to contacts at Facebook, Scary Azeri’s FB fan page has now been restored.
