Japan: Hashima Island, the abandoned island

Categories: East Asia, Japan, Arts & Culture, History

Craig Schmeizer at Make A History [1] wrote a post on Hashima Island [2] [en] (also dubbed Warship Island), a small island in the south of Japan that was abandoned in 1974. According to the blogger, it was “a center of a major mining complex owned by Mitsubishi Corporation” until it was depleted in the '70s. A short documentary video [3] [eng sub] is attached to the post.
