I really don’t want to sound negative but if this is really the best that Global Voices can do in covering the Vietnamese blogosphere then really you may as well just not bother.
The post above is a single short sentence linking to a blog post that is three weeks old. The blog post is written by an established author from the US who is not short of readers – it’s not exactly highlighting the under reported voices of VIetnam is it?
The best Vietnam gets these days is these single line updates. Honestly, if people are just going to go through the motions then why not just stop now.
I could allocate an hour a week to this job and still do it ten times better than the current situation (and yes that is me volunteering because it is a crying shame what is happening to GV at present)
With respect to Mong Palatino, I am sure you have to cover far too wide an area but Vietnam is a country that is too interesting, too vibrant and too fast changing to be represented sporadically by out of the country, out of date blog posts.
I guess you will be invited to join us soon.
Cheers,
