They have allowed too many people to go there. Some go there to do business, they don’t help the community. They are there for their own selfishness. They want more land to control the world. Cape Verdeans needs to stop being naive. Our people needs to take back their land, don’t sell it no more to strangers. At least, when we go to other foreign land, we work hard to have something and follow their rules. At the same time we care for the community we live. They are destroying our land and our race. I hope God is watching. I will keep praying for my people.
Rightly said Luisa, people have to take care for themselves that they are not exploited.

I am sorry to hear that, Luisa. Unfortunately I believe Cape Verde is not alone when it concerns to internationals stepping in with huge impact in foreign countries. I am now based in East Timor and I see something very similar happening here. Though timorese land law is very strict, “neo coloniaslism” happens in other ways.

I disagree with you Luisa. Cape Verde has few resources. Without outside investments the country would be in dire economic straights. The key is to manage those outside influences effectively. I think that the CV government is doing an outstanding job of governance – they are taking advantage of what outside investors have to offer, channelling the activities and benefits in the right sectors.
The result is a growing economy, more jobs for Cape Verdeans, and an increase in per capita wealth. Just look at any independent source that analyzes the performance of sovereign nations. Among African Nations, CV is always ranked in the top 5.
