Any thoughts on what people are tweeting about? Is it mostly personal stuff, or business related?
There’s a pretty good mix of personal/commercial/public. There was a very sharp increase of users in the past year because many famous figures (celebrities, politicians, business leaders) started tweeting.
Corporate usage is also starting to get interesting, with experimental marketing campaigns making headway into cultivating understanding for the importance of social media for business.
Interesting, much thanks for the detailed answer. I wonder if it will be used much for the kind of grassroots political discussion we’ve seen in some other countries.
Any thoughts on what percent of tweets are from mobile devices versus desktops, and if it’s trending toward or away from mobile devices? Also, any thoughts on how important a role Emoji plays in Twitter Japan.
