Categories: Latin America, Brazil, Citizen Media, Ethnicity & Race, Human Rights, Migration & Immigration

Kadija Tu, an exchange student from Guinea-Bissau, was severely beaten inside the campus of UFPB [Federal University of the State of Paraíba] on May 24th, reports [1] Eugenio Cruz from the blog Quase nada sobre quase tudo [Almost nothing about almost everything, pt]. Witnesses say she was called ‘dog-nigger‘ (Negra-Cão) by the aggressor. Juvanira Holanda, the delegate in charge of the investigation, who considered that the aggressions had nothing to do with racism [2], has already been put away from the case.
