Songkran is one of the biggest and well known Thailand Festivals. This is actually the Thai Buddhist New Year and getting wet for a week is just one of the perks. Thai people are already a relaxed happy set of individuals but Songkran really brings out the best of all. It’s an official holiday so prepared for many store closings. I avoided Khao San road this year because of the known political situation but had fun on Sukhumvit. Next year should be even better!
