Kenya: Draft Constitution passed by parliament

The latest on Kenya's Draft Constitution: “Parliament was predictably unable to summon the required quorum to get any of amendments passed, and the Draft Constitution was passed as is. Rather than vote yes or no on the proposed amendments, the MPs chose to walk out of an amendment that they didn’t support – again denying the public the right to know their position on a particular issue.”

there is this issue about the legalisation of abortion. To my view if this part is not revisited immediately after the harmonised draft consititution is passed, all evil associated with prosititution will rush in to our country with immediate effect. and again with leaders who claim to be knowing God i dont see the reason, then, as to why some of them want some commandments as well as human rights violated.

Abortion is not legalized it is only allowed when the life of the mother is in danger. In fact they should have included rape as another ground for abortion. The grounds raised as contentious to me are petty! Better half a loaf than none…or worse!

  • About the contentious issues:land, abortion and the Kadhi courts in the draft, i think its the right time church leaders and those MPS who are against it to give their personal view but not as a group. Each Kenyan has an equal right to give his or her stand, otherwise for me, i say YES.

Nobody has legalized abortion. We are misinforming the public. lets give Kenyans a break, let every man and woman who has Love for this country read, understand and vote for the draft in whichever way they feel like. For me it’s YES.

For those few individuals, who have always looted public land and watched the rest suffer and languish out in the cold, there time is now,get registered as a voter and vote YES during the referendum and finally Kiss Goodbye to being a squatter.
