Hamza Ahmad Qureshi and Momekh at Lahore Metblogs writes on the 2005 kite-flying ban in Pakistan and discusses the silly reasons cited to justify the ban. In many parts of Pakistan, especially in Lahore, traditionally people used to celebrate the Basant (spring) festival by flying kites.
The matter is already decided by court now for what they are shouting in morning.
Hamza, Momekh and others can not be licenced to cut the innocent children’s throats. If some one want to play Basant he can play it on another way. Flying a kite is not bad but the thread they use is what cuts throats of people when the kite goes down. O God, no civilized man will suffer that act for a single minute but my fellows, mad,
A little about the thread that used in kite flying is a nylon thread coated with pieces of glasses. It is prepared locally in homes with low quality of glue to cut the other man’s kite thread. But when the kite goes down the remaining thread then becomes a hidden killers for motorcycle and bicycle riders. In past, many innocent children have lost their lives.
