  • Thank you Lance for your excellent comments. Dear people, please do not be fooled by Sarath Fonseka, Ranil and Mangala who are puppets of UK, US, Canada Norway, EU and the blood money of the terrorist LTTE. Let all Sri Lankans not forsake our sovereign rights to be brain washed by these puppeteers. Don’t let any treacherous betrayer of Sri Lanka, sell our country at any price and commit hara kiri on January 26 by voting for these traitors. Let us all preserve our dignity, heritage of two millenia and the hard won sovereignty, as an eternal llegacy for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. voting

Dignity, Heritage and what about democracy; it will be too late when people voted for President Rajapaksa come to their senses..don’t be blinded by illusions this Rajapaksa bunch will definitely ruin our country.

The people of this country will be free from corruption, hatred, racism, poverty, etc when the General becomes the President. Hence, all
Sri Lankans should vote for General Sarath Fonseka if they want peace and prosperity to prevail after 30 years of hell.

      Dear Oh Dear Malathie,

Peace came to us only in May last year and the man who steered it all was President Rajapakse and nobody else and that too under very trying conditions. Both internal and external forces worked hand in glove and put their best effort to prevent the end to terror.
Fortunately the Leader had his trustworthy brothers by his side and thereby managed to take care of all races of this country who collectively were not willing to give in to terror.

Its due to corruption, weak leadership and the great betrayal of the people of Lanka in signing agreements without approval of parliament with terorists, that terrorism went on for thirty years.

Where have you been, wake up to the reality most of us know.
You will no doubt learn the hard way on the 27th instant when the people consisting of all races mainly outside the priviledged classes and city folk, give you a resounding answer.

There will be no salvation even in the Salvation Army for the former commander of the army.

I am sure his conscience must be pricking him having got into a mess by joining very self centred people, who have no idea of democracy as seen through their own performance, in their respective areas of responsibility.

Good luck to you and your campaign, I can see the strain on the commanders face, unfortunately he did not see the difference between the army a desciplined unit and the political arena so full of unpredictable politicians and supporters.

MAY THE COUNTRY BENEFIT FROM THE EXPERIENCE AND GO FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH

BEFORE YOU CONSIDER ANYTHING YOU MUST BE OF THE RIGHT MIND AND THAT IS POSSIBLE ONLY WHEN YOU ARE AT PEACE WITH THE WORLD AROUND YOU.

    PEACE IS IMPORTANT

WHO BROUGHT ABOUT THAT SITUATION – PRABAKARAN WHO PREVENTED THE TAMILS IN THE NORTH AND THE EAST FORM EXCERCISING THEIR DEMOCRATIC RIGHT ,NAMELY THE RIGHT TO VOTE AND THEREBY PAVING THE WAY TO THE PRESENT SITUATION.

IF WE HAD ELECTED THE ALTERNATIVE WHERE WOULD THE COUNTRY BE TODAY – BEING CHEWED UP BY THE WESTERN GROUPS AS PART OF NEO COLONIASM,WITH ALL OUR ASSETS SOLD AND WITHOUT THE INDEPENDANCE WE HAVE WON WITH ALL THE FORCES ACTING TOGETHER IN MAY 2009.

THEREFORE LET ALL PATRIOTS JOIN TO SAFEGUARD OUR COUNTRY WITHOUT BEING PARTY TO PROSTITUTION AND RALLY ROUND THE MAN AND HIS TEAM WHO HAS STEERED THE COUNTRY THROUGH REAL DIFFICULT TIMES,OVER THE PAST FOUR YEARS.

JUST PONDER AWHILE, GIVE SOME THOUGHT,HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN THE PAST FOUR YEARS

    OIL PRICE HIKES,

AN OPPOSITION SADLY LACKING ANY COMMITMENT TO THE COUNTRY,

A LARGE CABINET TO HOLD THE GOVERNMENT IN POWER

    WORLD FINANCIAL CRISIS,

AN ORGANISED TAMIL DIASPORA BACKED BY INTERNATIONAL INTERESTS

AND A DISGRUNTLED GROUP WHO ARE BLIND AND CONVENIENTLY FORGETING ALL THESE WAVES THAT ROCKED THE BOAT.

UNPRECEDENTED UNION ACTIVITY INITIATED BY GROUPS LEFT OUT OF GOVERNANCE, ON ACCOUNT OF THEIR OWN ACTIONS

WHAT THEN ARE WE MADE OF IF WE FORGET SO CONVENIENTLY TO GO WITH THE TIDE?

Let me tell you all something. I am an expatriote of this country but I love it and care of it very much. It’s my homeland. I have family there and I want to see them all live a happy, full life without being afriad. I was just a child during the riots on the 80’s. I don’t remember but I am told of the awful stories. I want better thing from my country and it’s not going to happen under the pervios president. Let me tell you BILLIONS of dollars was sent to Sri Lanka during the Tsunami from all the foreign countrys you all dispise of so much. You only got maybe 40% of that money and your beloved President got the rest to build himself a mansion in Europe. This is the man you want running the country. CAN YOU SAY SENSORSHIP!!!! EVERYTHING YOU HEAR ON THE SRI LANKAN NEWS IS FALSE IT’S MADE UP BY THE GOVERMENT!!! LEAVE THAT COUNRTY AND FIND OUT THE TRUTH ABOUT YOUR BELOVED PRESIDENT! I HOPE THE US OR THE UN ARRESTS HIM ON CHRAGE OF WAR CRIMES.

      • Ahamed Ashbal

Jone you are 100% correct , and a game-planer robber as H E president is suitable to rule for a foolish country like sri lanka

      • Nimal Suriyarachchi

John, get real. You need to substantiate your claims.I suggest you visit Jaffna and speak to the locals .The statement you have made “Everything you hear about Sri Lanka is False” this is a very loose statement. The demining process will take 3 years according to [INDIAN EXPERTS] you dont need to believe what the local press says and its partly for this reason that the camps are still maintained its the peoples own safety again those who have been released wished they were back in the Camps as they were given three meals per day, security and a roof above their heads wherelese by being prematurely released they are in no mans land.Expats from all over the world have their own expert views basing their arguments on hearsay living in the Comfort of their homes and ignoring thet the ground realities.
A pavement hawker can now sell his wares without fear of Bomb attacks, the less affluent can travel in Public Transport knowing there wont be suicide Bombers or parcel bombs and the list goes on.
Yes the 1983 riots was a black day in the Countries History as were the specific days the LTTE massacred helpless innocent Villagers in Anuradhapura,The DS Senanayake College Volleyball players, innocent Schoolboys, the helpless Vendors in the Pettah Bus stand in Bomb attack over a decade ago.You claim to know so much about the Tsunami Funds being misused, well thats the role of the Opposition
and unfortunately judging by the two recent Elections, has very little credibilty .You talk of censorship it may do you well to find out what ever happened to Rukman Senanayake in the UNP-Its quite clear his support towards the Presidents War effort was his demise and Sajith Premadasa was a shadow in the dark all these years .One needs to give credit where credit is due ,RW once described the victory in Thoppigala as a Victory over Jungle which the UNP was never interested in taking over but as it later proved it was the morale booster for the bigger battles ahead.
The strong LTTE lobby still exits in certain Countries and the media in those Countries still portray the Tamils as the victims. An Australian Journalist once asked why the Govt was reluctant to let Journalists into the Camps. In my letter to the Editor I asked him whether he will get permissdion to visit the Green Zone in Bagdhad or Guantanamo Bay.
Remember Bombs were carried Red Cross Vans by the LTTE.
The President does not need to build Mansions in Europe he lives in Nobility in his Village.

  • Beware of casting casting your vote to a potential dictator, who will wear the uniform again. Our sovereignty for 62 years will be doomed with a general as president. Beware of colonialism, divide and rule, support west’s arms trade, eelam for the separatists, secret agreements, absolute power to corrupt absolutely and the demise of democracy. If common sense is to prevail, vote for Hon.Mahinda Percy Rajapaksa who will stand and deliver the best resplendent island nation in the world.

  • thilini

Mahinda declared this election 2 years ahead of his actual tenure, right after the war victory! Why? because he knew exactly that every idiot would vote for him JUSt because of winning the war! He just tried so cunningly to manipulate that fact in to his own benefit. Why else would he have declared a premature election?

But alas cunning Mahinda got caught up in his own snare!
But sadly still some Srilankans are so blindly playing right in to his trick! How blind!!

  • The people who vote for Sarath Fonseka are the real idiots who are blind as well. The opposition parties could not field a formidable candidate to oppose Mahinda Rajapaksa. What they have done is, in their (Ranil Wickremasinghe & co.) thinking, Sarath Fonseka is a pawn or a puppet to win the election. These are all back door tactics to grab power by any means. Army generals will never shed their uniforms and may become a dictator and supreme president with absolute power. The idiots who vote for Sarath Fonseka are blind not to realise the secret pact he has with the TNA and other political groups. for their own hidden agendas and motives. If all Sri Lankans do not want Sri Lanka to start another ethnic war, those who have any common sense and are not blind and can see, should vote for Mahinda Rajapaksa for a happy, peaceful and susscessful Sri Lanka, a land flowing with milk and honey for generations to come.

  • Ahamed Ashbal

the person who has Emphasize H.E .Mahida rajapakshe to the world is Gen. Sarath fonseka, and he may not having the experience in politics as president but he’s having experience in administration, also the man who is bit genuine among the others who has contested in this election. H E president act that he’s next to god like wise the government medias and their party peoples’ creation. but he’s utter third class person.

  • Will those who voted for Sarath, get their heads examined by a good psychologist and a neurologist to see whether their brains are functioning properly? Ranil, Mangala, Mano and others had an agenda to use Sararth as their pawn to sell one third of the country to the supporters of the LTTE remnants to have their independent Tamil state. They must now stop all the rhetoric of corruption, robbery etc. of the UPFA. The stateman Mahinda will develop Sri Lanka to be the paradise of the east. All traitors should change their attitudes or leave Sri Lanka, if they do not support Mahinda. Sri Lanka is very capable of running our country. All heads of nations and the UN congratulated Mahinda for a fair and free election. The demonic LTTE eelamists should now be rounded up and brought under the full force of the law suupp
