Iranian citizens and international mainstream media [1] have reported that tens of thousands of opposition supporters took to the streets in Iran's main theological center on Monday and clashed with pro-government militiamen during the funeral of the country's top dissident cleric, Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri. See photos [2] here.

In a design published in some opposition sites, Montazeri is sketched in green, the color of the Iranian opposition. It says ‘Send our greetings to Neda [3] and Sohrab’ (two demonstrators killed by security forces in post-election protests earlier this year).

Here is a video of the funeral of Ayatollah Montazeri.

Nikahang [4], Iranian leading cartoonist and blogger, also published a cartoon remembering Montazeri.

There is another video showing a ceremony in Elmo Sanat University in Tehran for Montazeri. People shouted slogans such as “Montazeri is alive!” and “The green movement is in mourning!”
