The View from Fez reports on how 33-year-old Fatima Zahra Mansouri lost her council seat as the first female mayor of the city of Marrakesh, after a controversial administrative court ruling disallowed the vote on the basis of alleged irregularities. “Mansouri's Party for Authenticity and Modernity (PAM), which swept the local elections last month, said in a statement that a 48-hour strike had been called to ‘protest the plot against the democratic process,'” reports the blogger.

the first one was Asmae Chaabi at Essaouira (2004-2009)
Absolutely spot on Mohamed. I should have added “First Female Mayor [of Marrakesh].”
Do we believe that PAM is protest party. Is it not the ultimate Makhzen party?
