Only Pakistan can help Pakistan

While discussing the problem of the growing number of internally displaced persons (IDPs), Mosharraf Zaidi at All Things Pakistan comments: “Pakistan is in this mess because this is a state that does not deal with small problems until they become big problems,” and “in the long run, only Pakistan can help Pakistan.”

Yes, I believe only the Pakistanis have the responsibility to fix the mess that we are in. Nobody else has either the duty or the passion to do it.
The biggest issue Pakistan faces right now is its problematic belief system which is eating away at its very foundation little by little. I’m not trying to be derogatory or disrespectful in any shape or form here just stating the facts. There is no question everyone has a right to be a devout believer to the fullest extent whether you are Muslim or non-Muslim, but there is room to discuss what changes can be made to improve conditions in Pakistan. Now lets talk about two main belief systems in Pakistan:

    1. The religious system. First of all, no human being on earth is complete morally without its religious belief system. Lets be sure its not the religion that corrupts people rather its the people who corrupt the religion. I don’t have to give you any examples for this. The evidence of failure is every where in the Islamic world. Unless we refine our thinking & avoid elements that lead us to the path of destruction we’re never going to be stable or civilized in a true sense of the word. We can not afford to put all our trust in small uneducated & dictatorial clergy anymore. Do they really care about the future of our children? Do they really believe in lasting peace for the future generations? I don’t think so. Traditions are fine but if they get in the way of stability of a nation, I would say modify them. We must respect the past but engage efficiently in the present & in the future. I mean keeping peace & prosperity as our no. one treasured goal. If we don’t change our thinking now we are looking at most horrible talibanization of Pakistan which is fast approaching our way anyway. Tell me, is this what Islam is all about? I don’t think so. I think Islam is in the few hands of not so many good people that relentlessly abuse the privilege, and that’s immoral.

    2. The political system: Pakistan’s political system is in shambles never knowing whether it is a democracy or dictatorship. We pretend to be democratic yet we always mold ourselves into ugliest form of dictatorship on earth where there is no regard of human or moral potential. If we have to live constantly under these conditions why not just have a long term king or a dictator to whip our butts. May be, just may be he might be able to give us some tiny glimmer of stability or hope. Right now we have no stability or hope for the future. We can change the future only if we believe we can refine our thinking for the betterment of our future generations. That means, having respect for human rights of all people of Pakistan. If we are to be a prosperous nation on earth we must plant seeds of democracy in our heart & soul first, otherwise we are gazing at a quick death as a nation.

Yes, theoratically religion is supposed to give you awareness of morality. but it is only true if the religion is from true God. But in case of Pakistan it is on the contrary. It is not the people who corrupt religion but it is religion that corrupts people. Let’s be clear that no one can ever have peace untill they become at peace with the Prince of Peace, who in turn will give His peace to them who ask. Now let everyone who has understanding understand this. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace
