Zimbabwe: Vendors of Zimbabwe Unite!

“Vendors of Zimbabwe Unite!,” reads the headline at Kubatana blog: “Here’s some citizen reporting just received from a Zimbabwean living in Harare: This afternoon at about 2.30pm I saw vendors scattering in all directions dropping their vegetables and running for their lives. The scene was just off 7th Avenue in Harare next to Greenwood Park.”

ALL THE TALK ABOUT CREATING JOBS IN SOUTH AFRICA IS A JOKE, THE DIAMOND INDUSTRY IS ON ITS KNEES WITH 75% OF THE WORKFORCE OUT OF WORK, 2500 DIAMOND CUTTERS 2 YEARS AGO ,NOW 700, AMAZING SINCE WE ARE ONE OF THE WORLDS BIGGEST PRODUCERS OF ROUGH DIAMONDS, INDIA ONE OF THE SMALLEST PRODUCERS OF ROUGH DIAMONDS HAS OVER 1 MILLION DIAMOND CUTTERS,BUT THEIR GOVERNMENT LOOKS AFTER THE INDUSTRY, WE SELL OUR ROUGH TO ANY DEALER WHO BOTHERS TO COME AND BID ON OUR TENDERS, WITH EVERY 30 CARATS OF ROUGH DIAMONDS EXPORTED A JOB GOES WITH IT, WHILE WE STILL HAVE THE EXPERTISE WHY DONT WE USE IT, ALL THE TALK OF BENEFICATION,TO NO AVAIL, ONE HAS TO QUESTION WHATS REALLY GOING ON.
