Who can define for me the Guyanese writer’s purpose, how do we convey the message of our experiences when many people don’t even know where Guyana is? I also wonder if we are aware of where writing has gone, how we did not even turn Annancy into a Harry Potter and the Bacoo is still the Bacoo, the Massacura dead long now and our kids know more about Merlin than the Obeah man. Are we lost? Why are our novels so boring and why do we write like a depressed people? Why are our great men few and tainted and our founding fathers dividers? I will change this, I have to change this, in my books that is, if i can get over this damn writers block thingy.
